Why is he so nervous? :(

Where do you see nervousness? He doesn’t look nervous to me. His ears aren’t pulled back and his whiskers are relaxed. His mouth is soft and the corners are not tense and pulled back or drawn closed and tight. His paws are relaxed and not clenched. His eyes are averted because I have a camera in his face and his eyebrows are pulled up but there’s no tension in the rest of his body. I had him pose for the shot, so he’s looking around without breaking his stay. He’s made this look before, it mostly correlates to curiosity and sometimes concern that you are not going to share your food.

For comparison, in these pictures Rocky (top) is strongly averting, his ears are back, he has tension ridges under his eyes and around his mouth, and his mouth is tight when it is closed and pulled forward and when it is open and stress panting. Compare them to the pictures of Arthur on the bottom.

  2. Yes. Your dog is all nose!

  3. Your title is the truth; you’ve hit it on the nose.

Rocky looks very pensive, like he nose something important.

Perhaps he just misses all the exercise from your Couch to 25K program? Maybe it’s snout time to go for another run.

    …alright, I’m finished.
